An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Apparel Production Director to lead a major, technically sophisticated garment manufacturing operation in Bangladesh.
This is a substantial senior leadership position requiring someone who has already operated at significant scale. You will lead experienced factory and functional management teams and take responsibility for manufacturing performance across production, planning, industrial engineering, quality, technical, maintenance and supporting functions.
The product mix is technically demanding and includes down, synthetic insulated, seam-sealed, bonded, hybrid, rainwear and soft-shell garments, manufactured for leading international apparel, outdoor and performance brands.
The Role
You will:
- Lead a large and complex garment manufacturing operation.
- Drive productivity, efficiency, quality, cost, lead-time and delivery performance.
- Lead and develop experienced factory managers and functional heads.
- Strengthen coordination across Production, Planning, IE, Technical, Quality and Maintenance.
- Drive structured continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Improve material flow, capacity utilisation and production performance.
- Ensure robust manufacturing processes for technically complex performance garments.
- Lead customer visits, operational reviews and manufacturing discussions.
- Develop leadership capability and succession across the operation.
The Candidate
We are looking for an established garment manufacturing operations leader with:
- 15+ years’ garment manufacturing experience, including significant senior operations leadership.
- Experience managing large-scale garment manufacturing operations involving several thousand employees.
- Strong technical manufacturing experience in outerwear and performance garments.
- Direct experience with down, synthetic insulation, seam sealing, bonded construction, rainwear, soft-shell and/or hybrid garments.
- Experience working with demanding international apparel, outdoor, sportswear or performance brands.
- A strong track record of improving productivity, efficiency, quality, lead time and on-time delivery.
- Strong Industrial Engineering and operational-performance capability.
- Experience leading senior factory managers and functional heads.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills within a large, multicultural manufacturing environment.
A relevant degree in Textile/Apparel Engineering, Industrial/Production Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
