A circular-knit fabric manufacturing plant in Karnataka is seeking a Quality Manager to oversee the end-to-end material quality assurance process at the plant level. The business combines local manufacturing capability with the technical standards and operational expectations of an established overseas textile manufacturer. The plant produces polyester, nylon, and elastane performance fabrics for export and activewear programs.
This is a plant-based, hands-on quality role. You will be the primary quality authority on-site, responsible for incoming material inspection, in-process QC, finished fabric release, shipment documentation, and coordination with international brand quality teams. The role requires deep familiarity with synthetic filament fabric behaviour, global brand testing protocols, and the full material QA process from development sample through bulk production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead bulk fabric inspection using the Four Point System
- Manage testing for pilling, shrinkage, colourfastness, stretch/recovery, and moisture management
- Monitor shipments, lab-dips, sample approvals, and delivery timelines
- Coordinate with production, dyeing, finishing, and technical teams
- Maintain inspection reports, testing records, and shipment documentation
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action on quality issues
Experience Required
- 7–10 years in textile QA/QC within circular knit fabric manufacturing
- Strong experience with polyester, nylon, and elastane fabrics
- Hands-on knowledge of ASTM, AATCC, and fabric testing standards
- Experience in factory-based quality operations
- Strong understanding of shipment approvals and production quality control
Preferred
- Activewear or performance fabric experience
- Exposure to export customers or international quality standards
- Experience with Texbase or similar systems
