Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with designers and CAD teams to translate 2D garment concepts into precise 3D patterns suitable for production.
- Guide and mentor patternmakers (to achieve the desired design aesthetics within the 3D software environment.
- Hand over finalized 3D patterns to the sample cutting department, associated files, and sample garments.
- Collaborate with the cutting team to ensure pattern accuracy translates to fabric cutting.
- Monitor sample production, verifying fit and construction against the design intent.
- Communicate styling and fit concerns to buyers.
- Train and mentor marketing, design, and product development teams on 3D skills.
- Explore and implement new 3D patternmaking techniques, methods, and systems to achieve innovative designs.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
- Proficient in using 3D design software (e.g., CLO3D) to create accurate and efficient 3D patterns for garment production.
- Strong understanding of traditional patternmaking principles and their application in the 3D environment.
- Experience working with various sizes, including men’s, women’s, and plus sizes.
- Knowledge of garment construction techniques and ability to identify potential fit and production issues during the pattern development stage.
- Ability to work effectively with designers, CAD teams, and other stakeholders to translate design concepts into production-ready patterns.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and technical packs to ensure patterns translate seamlessly into production.
