About the Role: As the Asia Manager based in Shanghai, you will lead the Asia team, ensuring the consolidation of the factory supply base and aligning vendor capabilities with brand requirements. Your strategic vision will be crucial in driving better commercial outcomes and fostering collaboration between our Asia and Melbourne teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the team in Asia.
- Facilitate collaboration between the Asia and Australia teams.
- Drive accuracy and competitive advantage in FOB negotiation and supplier management.
- Conduct initial assessments and ensure new factory viability in conjunction with Compliance teams.
- Implement improved processes with internal teams and suppliers to enhance overall efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive experience in apparel product development, with a strong manufacturing background.
- Understanding of footwear production is advantageous.
- Proven expertise in cost negotiation and cost engineering, including cost modelling.
- In-depth knowledge of fabric and sustainability practices.
- Strong in-country network and experience with low-cost product production, particularly in sport/athleisure.
- Familiarity with ethical sourcing and compliance requirements.
- Comprehensive understanding of garment construction and factory capacity planning.
- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining close communication with the Head Office.
