Bridgeworks Consulting is supporting the search for a Supply Chain Director to lead the end-to-end supply chain for a high-growth international men’s sports and outerwear business operating at pace in the China market.
This is a senior operational role with full accountability across planning, sourcing, production, logistics, warehousing, and supplier management. The mandate is to build a responsive, commercially robust supply chain that delivers speed-to-market, inventory discipline, and consistent availability in a highly competitive environment.
Location: Shanghai or Beijing (regular inter-city travel)
The Role
The Supply Chain Director owns the full supply chain lifecycle and acts as the senior counterpart to merchandising, design, retail, and finance. The role leads a sizeable China-based team covering planning, sourcing, procurement, logistics, and supplier operations.
This role requires strong factory leverage, operational judgement, and the ability to balance cost, speed, quality, and risk on a daily basis.
Core Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Leadership

Define and execute an end-to-end supply chain strategy for men’s sports and outerwear

Lead planning, sourcing, procurement, logistics, and warehousing functions

Partner closely with merchandising, design, retail, and finance
Supplier & Sourcing Management

Manage a multi-tier supplier base across China and selected regional hubs

Secure capacity, improve lead times, and manage cost and quality performance

Lead supplier negotiations, KPIs, and continuous improvement programmes
Planning & Inventory

Oversee demand planning, materials forecasting, and production planning

Improve availability while reducing excess and aged stock

Strengthen planning discipline and data-driven decision making
Operational Execution

Apply fast-fashion best practices to shorten lead times and improve responsiveness

Introduce clear KPIs, transparency, and process discipline

Ensure compliance, sustainability, and operational standards are met
Logistics & Distribution

Oversee inbound logistics, warehouse operations, and outbound distribution

Optimise cost, speed, and service through internal teams and logistics partners
People Leadership

Lead and develop a large, multi-function supply chain organisation

Build capability in analytics, planning, and supplier management

Set clear accountability and performance expectations
Critical Requirements

10–15+ years’ senior supply chain leadership in apparel, fast fashion, sportswear, or outdoor categories

Proven end-to-end supply chain experience in the China market

Strong background in supplier management, planning, production, and logistics

Demonstrated results in lead-time reduction, DIFOT improvement, inventory control, and margin delivery

Credibility with factories, mills, and senior internal stakeholders

Experience leading large teams (50–100+ staff)

English required; Mandarin strongly preferred
